Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave Therapy is a noninvasive treatment that uses targeted acoustic pressure waves to stimulate the body’s natural healing response. Treatment is delivered directly to the affected area with a specialized handheld applicator—without injections, medication, or surgery.
Shockwave Therapy may help decrease pain, improve circulation and mobility, and support the healing of injured or irritated muscles, tendons, and connective tissues. It is commonly used for plantar fasciitis, heel pain, Achilles tendinopathy, tennis or golfer’s elbow, shoulder tendinopathy, patellar tendon pain, and other persistent musculoskeletal conditions.
During treatment, you may feel a tapping or pulsing sensation as the therapy is applied. The intensity can be adjusted for your comfort, and appointments are generally brief with little to no downtime. Many patients can return to their regular daily activities immediately afterward.
Because every condition is different, our provider will evaluate the affected area and determine whether Shockwave Therapy is appropriate for you. A personalized series of treatments may be recommended based on your condition, symptoms, and response to care.
